Ask a question: What will happen when we combine both together?

Construct a hypothesis( make a guess) The paper will change colour.

Conduct the experiment:

Record your observations and data: Colour change, Irreversible, temperature change, release of gas, change to ashes & smell of smoke.

Analyse information: When the paper was lit a new substance was made and it became irreversible.

Chemical change

Walt: write a paragraph on chemical changes.

For the past few days we have been learning about chemical change.  I know that chemical change is when you combine two or more things together and it can never be reversed back. For today's lesson we made pancakes in the hall to prove that there is science in cooking.

We knew that there was a chemical change when we combined the ingredients together because the substance changed and when we added heat to it the there was a bubbles and that meant the release of gas. We also knew that there was chemical change because the colour changed.
