It is very shaming to hear that New Zealand has the lowest rank. I think maths should be apart of the school curriculum so that our students in this school must be able to get a job and so that we may be able to solve money issues and many more.

After that I had to figure out how each grid is going to be and then I practised on a blank paper to see if it worked. I enjoyed this maths and hope to do it again.

Finding my why
Today we were doing planning framework: finding Your Why. My poem is below. It is about what is my why and it is to be a rugby player.
My dream and passion is to play rugby like my older siblings
If I become a rugby player it would be very thrilling
Hopefully in the future I would get a contract and make my family proud
And I can say “I did it” and scream it out loud
To get there I would attend every training
I won’t be complaining
I will run in the mornings
And I will not stop and start walking

WALT: Write a paragraph using personification
The sun came out to play as the soft whistling wind turned into a noisy crowd. The leaves danced on the branches. Waves jumped up and crashed back down into rocks. Descriptive writing
WALT: Write a descriptive paragraph using imagery.
Today we wrote a paragraph about a earthquake using the five senses. I worked in a pair with Heather.
The earthquake was like a magnet, drawing in buildings and making them collapse onto the floor. Chaotic people shot around in fear, while birds instantly evacuated the area. My nose was filled with dirt and dust from broken cement. As the ground shook I flopped onto the cold floor that I was once standing on. Dogs cried out loudly while tree leaves and branches rustled together aggressively. My hands were trembling by the sight of crazy power lines uncontrollably swaying in the polluted brown sky that once was a shade of baby blue.

Cook Island Language Week
Today after morning tea a group of people came from the Auckland museum to teach us about the Cook Island history and culture. I found learning about their culture very interesting. I learnt what they used to make a vaka ara and what they use for glue. My favourite part was when some of the kids had to figure out how to use one of the tools and they were struggling but they manage to find out how it works.

Everyday theatre
Today two lovely women named Julie and Florida came to our classroom to talk about a family who have problems. The family that they were talking about were a part of a video game and we were the people that controlled the buttons. During the lesson one of the ladies went to room 7 and Florida stayed with us.
During the time we spent with her we played activities, fun games and we got to ask questions about the characters. We were rewarded with a bonus point when we finished a scene and every time we got a bonus point she gave us a password to complete the full sentence. Spending our time with Florida was worth it and it was fun.
At the end of the season Florida gave us a prize and it was a page that said games master every child has a dream and she also gave us a card and said to ring this number if you have any problems with your family. I hope they come again because everyone in the classroom enjoyed everything we did with them and it bring laughter to the children especially me.

Aliens angles
This game is a very fun game to play. For this game you need a protractor and you need to know how to use a protractor. If you get the measuring right then a rocket will save an alien. At first this game was hard, until I got the hang of it and then it became easy. I enjoyed playing this game and I will definitely play this game again. Next, I'd like to learn how to substitute smaller numbers to solve problems with 6 or 7 digit numbers.

Patterns with muffins
For the past 3 weeks we have been studying patterns in algebra. We had to try and figure out the rule of the pattern. Yesterday our teacher gave us each a banana muffin and she said that you have to use the ingredients she bought to make a pattern on the muffin and the winner gets a prize. I had difficulties applying the ingredients on my muffin but I managed to do it. The fun part was making my own pattern on the muffin. After our 10 minutes was up five students muffins were selected and Nick had to choose which one was the winners. The winner was Ketura’s and I agree with Nick. Next I would like to learn how to more algerbra.

Last day of netball
Today was the last day of netball with Anne and was very fun learning the techniques in netball.
When we were playing netball there were some funny moments like when someone threw the ball the wrong way and then someone else shot the ball in the wrong hoop and it was hilarious. Anne was so Generous
that she gave the netball girls some gear to use while training. Thank you Anne for the gear.

Inspiring people
On Tuesday afternoon an author named kate and her friends dreydon and Tony came to our class to talk about the 80km walk they did. When dreydon was talking he also had a presentation made and as he was talking us through of what happened he showed us the photos.
After a while he showed us the equipment we needed when we go on the walk and they were called the camel pack, head torch, pills and a beacon. Dreydon also showed us how the equipment works and it was very interesting learning about it. After that we had to write our own goal. The people that sat next to me and in front of me did goals about sports camp and Kate and dreydon were impressed with our goals. While we were writing our goals Tony was taking amazing photo’s of the class.
Then Dreydon showed us his team's goal and they did an acrostic poem that spelt smart like
s for specific
m for measurable
a for achievable
r for relevant
t time bound.
After his presentation we all took a photo with Kate and Dreydon then after that it was time for them to leave so we said thank you and goodbye. Dreydon has inspired me to become fit and to do a 80km walk if I have the chance to.Our class appreciates the treats and the letter you have sent our class.

The collapsing bridge
WALT: Write a narrative
It was a stunningly beautiful day as the sun was going down I was playing on the park. While I was swinging on the swing I get a phone call from my parents telling me to come home for dinner so I jogged my way home trying to get fit before we leave to sports camp.
It was a stunningly beautiful day as the sun was going down I was playing on the park. While I was swinging on the swing I get a phone call from my parents telling me to come home for dinner so I jogged my way home trying to get fit before we leave to sports camp.
I got exhausted once I got to the bridge so I stopped to catch my breath. As I tried to catch my breath I could hear a squeaky sound coming from the bridge and that's when I noticed that the bridge was not stabled and it was going to collapse. I carefully tried to tip toe my way off the bridge but suddenly, SNAP! the bridge collapse. I was terrified. As part of pieces falling 20 meters down into the clear blue water filled with rocks. I was holding onto a piece that was screwed into the concrete hoping that it will not brake as I tried to figure out a way to get out of this situation. I screamed out loudly “HELP!” but nobody hear me. My biceps started getting painful as I was holding on to that one piece.
I finally came up with an idea to climb on the wall like it was rock climbing until I reached the top. I climbed and climbed and finally I reached the top I quickly lifted myself up onto the dirty concrete and jumped for joy and screaming loudly “YES I DID IT!”.
I sprinted home as if there was 100 dogs chasing me. I finally made it home I was staunchly happy to be home. I had a shower, ate dinner and then jumped onto the couch and layed on it trying to look for a movie to watch as I was trying to forget about what just happen. I finally found one but it was about a climber who nearly died. I was so angry that I turned off the t.v and went to sleep.
Patterns
For maths we were learning about patterns. The group I was in we had to fill in the 40th term in the five patterns that our teacher gave us. The third pattern we had to do was difficult to find out the 40th term for the whole group but we couldn’t find the 40th term so our teacher said to find the 10th term and it was 74. I really enjoyed learning about patterns.
