Personification poem
Walht: Write a personification poem
I dived into the muddy ground.
I get hit in the face and everywhere else.
I net caught the mighty serve in her big arms.
I get hit everywhere and it really hurts.
What did I do to deserve this punishment.

Hot air balloon
As we kept on walking we came across a hot air balloon project. It was about how the air inside is hot and as it cools down the balloon stops floating in the air.

Feet size check
Our next option was when we had to check what size our feet was. The smallest was 12 and the biggest was 23. My teacher and friend tried it and they had a small size. My teachers size was 5 and my friend size was 4.

What colour is the box?
After the roadshow we got a chance to go and play with some of the science toys. As my group and I walked and stopped to play with the science toys we came across a box. I said to look through the hole and guess the colour. Everyone said black. When we opened the box the colour was yellow. On a board it showed why the colour was black and it was because there was no light to show the colour.

Physical and chemical changes
Today for our school trip we went to Baradene College. There was a science road show that to wonderful people preformed. For our first show we learnt about physical and chemical changes. We learnt that physical change is when you do something to an object but you don’t use any product. Chemical change is when you do something to an object and it can never be reversed.

Migration of Maori
Migration of Maori
Today Ms Maud was our teacher and she taught us about migration of Maori’s. We learnt what the Maori’s use when they are hunting. They used the fiber from the inside of the flax to make a rope. They rolled it between their hands to make a rope. Then they tied a knot around a rock, then they spined it and aimed for a bird and that was what they ate. We also were told a story about Kupe and how he chased a huge octopus and while he was chasing it, it landed on a island. The island was called the north island. Kupe went back to where he was from to collect his people and tell them that he found a island and that they should go with him to stay on that island for the rest of their lives. They named that island Aotearoa. We also found out that a man called Ngatoroirangi drew the outline of the whole New Zealand as he was on a boat traveling. There were seven boats that we had to name but the main boats that we talked about were Te Arawa Waka and Tainui Waka. Learning about migration of Maori was fun and very interesting and I hope to do it again.

Nikos the fisherman
This book would appeal to my brother….
because he likes stories with monsters because it reminds him of holloween and candy. He will also like this book because the pictures would make him want to draw patterns.

Apple turnovers
Today for maths we made apple turnovers. First we took 2 apples and a pastry and measured it on a scale. We recorded this on our maths book. Secondly we cut up our apples in small uneven shapes. Thirdly we put our cut apples in the middle of the pastry. Then we sprinkled a bit of sugar on top of the apples. After that we folded the pastry to cover the apples. Then we used a fork to seal up the sides and poked holes on the top. After that we put a bit of milk and sprinkled some sugar on the top. Then we put it on a measured our prebaked turnovers on a scale. After that we put it on a tray and into the oven. After a while Ms Ramcklown measured Natalia’s turnover on a scale and it was 80g.

Healthy lunch
WALT: Work out the outcomes
On Tuesday the year 7 and 8 went to AUT Millennium. They provided us with a healthy lunch. We used this information in our maths lesson. We had to work out the outcome. From my diagram there are 6 options. I found this easy to do.

If I could be someone else I would be?
If I could be someone else I would be Tevita Bryce who is my brother. He was born in Tonga and lived there for a couple of years then came to live in New Zealand. He has achieved his goals which were to get a rugby contract and graduate from university. All of this happened in Tokyo,Japan. He works in Japan as a translator. Tevita Bryce started playing rugby when he was 5 years old and he is still playing rugby at the age of 24.
Tevita Bryce has a funny personality. He shows commitment to what he does and he is very appreciative. He respects others and he is humble. Tevita Bryce sets a good example for his friends and family. After all of his rugby games he shows sportsmanship by shaking the other team's hands and thanking them for the game even when he loses.
Besides Tevita’s talent on playing sports he is also a great artist. He draws from observation and imagination. Drawing was an art that enjoyed from when he was 7. He has sketched many famous people before but he has never sold them to anyone. He keeps them to himself and hangs them on his wall.
Tevita has already achieved his goal and they were to get a rugby contract and graduate from university. Each and every one of his relatives are proud of him. I hope to be him one day and do what he does to make my family proud and to do as well as he did.

Day of laughter
On Tuesday the year 7 and 8’s went to AUT Millennium. My group had no teacher so we had no photo’s of the children and I. The first activity my group did was an outdoor sport and it was track running with Kathy. My group and I were tired but we really enjoyed it. It was fun. Thank you Michelle and Nestle for organizing this for us and I hope to do it again.

My opinion on this is a bad idea to work with out going on your cell phone because there could be a family issue and they try to contact you. I also think this is a bad idea because anyone of your relative or friends could be in hospital or in danger and they try to contact you but you don’t pick up and you won’t know happened. My parents are only allowed to pick up calls when they are working because it might be an emergency. They only time they are allowed to go on facebook or any other social media is when they are on there break.
