Omaru Creek - Te Taiao o Tāmaki
At Omaru Creek there were problems when the water was not going through the drain and the sewage water was overflowing into the Creek. The maintenance crew went down to Omaru Creek and helped clean it up. They found that the water was not going down the drain because there were wet wipes in the pipe and that does not break up in water, It only makes large clumps. They also found cans, kids toys, beer bottles and rotting mattresses. They ran tests on the water for over five days.
Glen Innes school has already chosen what part to clean and we have the part closest to Apirana Avenue. This is the condition we found at Omaru Creek a aerosol can, metal bucket, acqua weeds growing into the garden, a lolly wrapper, paper and broken branches. After we finish cleaning the Omaru Creek I bet that it will look spotless with fresh water.

PACE, ACCELERATION and CONSOLIDATION
Image 1 Image 2
The 3 keywords for this year are PACE, ACCELERATION and CONSOLIDATION. For the first basic facts assessment I got 32 out of 40 and in week 3 I got 35 out of 40 I think this is a little bit of acceleration because I only improved by getting three more questions right. For the next basic facts I hope to get 40 out of 40. I will consolidate by revising my fractions and percentages.
