Egg of the week

IMG_20160523_142426.jpg

This week I was a meaningful child in my family because I was helping my mum make a chocolate cake. I also helped my cousin clue her toy together and help her build a wooden clock.

Laughing at words

Screenshot 2016-05-18 at 10.56.54 AM.png
WALT: Find 2 meanings to puns.

In room 8 we have been learning about puns. Mrs Ramklown photocopied a picture of our principle and a netball and the whole class had to draw eyes on the ball because a pun to tell someone to focus on the ball is eyes on the ball and then we drew eyes near our principle because the pun for that is eyes by me. The real meaning for that is focus on the ball and look at me. In my family the pun we mostly use is take a seat if we are told to sit down and you quack me up but the real meaning is you crack me up.

The giant

It was a beautiful spring day. You can hear bird chirping and kids running around and laughing. But one afternoon I heard something break. I looked outside and I saw my neighbour’s son Brook, he was enormous. I ran over to ask his mum what happened and she said that “he was making a project for school but some of the acid tipped on him by accident”. I told them to wait there and not go anywhere.  I went home and tried to fine and acid to fix his mistake before he starts to wreck other people's . I finally found an acid but when I went to his house he was gone.

I tried to figure out where he went until I heard people screaming for their lives, buildings falling and cars crashing and beeping and then it came to my mind that he was trying to destroy the whole city. I sprinted to my car and and rushed to town with the acid. I finally arrived to town I saw him wrecking everything. I saw him heading to the skytower and people were in there so I sprinted like if it was my life on the line. I saw a rope drop down from the sky tower so I started to climb. As I was climbing the sky tower looked unusual until I saw the side start to crack so I swung to the open window and told the to climb down the rope as fast as you can. They finally got down to the ground and I was almost to where he was so I continued to climb.

Suddenly he jumps off and runs away so I quikly got down and chased after him in my car. Once I arrived to where he was I saw people injured and trying to hide and dead people carried by ambulance and police men. The whole place was nearly destroyed. Tears raced down my mucky face as I stood there with my fist stiff as a rock thinking to myself I better hurry. I rushed to where he was heading and tried followed him quitly as I tried to figure out a way to get to the top of where he is so that I could throw that acid at his neck.

It was at the moment when cops arrived and told us to rebuild the houses you broke because people were very poverty. We both were exhausted for building what we broke by we came to an end where we forgave each other.

WALHT: use the order of operation - BEDMAS to solve problems

This online activity was a consolidation to help us improve in our maths. I found easy subtracting and adding all the numbers and I had difficulties with moving from each question very fast because the numbers got bigger and harder to answer. Next I would like to learn how to multiply bigger numbers fast.

Memories with my mother

I remember the first time you took me on a trip to Tonga to meet the rest of the family. I remember when you made me laugh and when you also taught me how to speak in Tongan.

I also remember when I got a scar and you took me to Starship. You also taught me how to read and to do a Tongan dance.

I have never forgotten the day when I had a very bad fever and I could not eat because I was just never hungry and you were so worried that you stayed off work to take me to starship and to take care of me. You have always been there to sign my forms for school whenever you have time to do it.

You always had faith in me and you always support me in anything I do. You are my role model. You always come to my goal setting and you also try and push me to be better than you and you are doing a very good job.

You teach me what is right and what is wrong. If I get homework from school you are always there to help me.
